This poster "Happy Daze", was sold in Habitat and went on to become one of their best selling prints ever.
Born in Essex and now living in South London,
Sean Bennett studied Graphic Design at the Croydon College School of Art and Design. Since graduating
in 1993, he has designed books and covers for publishing companies, packaging, and he is currently working as a magazine designer for a large London based newspaper.
Sean's passion for the 1960's and 1970's developed when he was at college; his authentic collection of "retrobilia" ranges from chairs, lamps, watches and clocks to clothes and even a car.
Six years ago Sean developed and translated his passion on computer, using the classic designs, patterns, colours and shapes from the sixties and seventies. To recreate a visual representation of these ideas into reality, he started using emulsion to paint and transferred his abstract designs onto board.
His work is currently used by Habitat on posters, canvases and postcards and are some of the best selling prints that Habitat have ever sold. Waterstones and WHSmith's are also selling greetings cards using his 'retro' designs.
Sean's artwork has also been featured in publications such as Elle Decoration, Living Etc, Sunday Express Magazine, FHM and New! magazine.
Sean now paints to commission, which he finds immensely satisfying; his work is collected by national and international clients.
